READY TO RIDE?
Soon everyday Kiwis will have an easier, cheaper and smarter way to get around. One that causes less pollution and takes the headache out of finding a park.
Sign me up! We hear you say.
Right now we are rolling out an Electric Bike Network across the main urban centres in New Zealand. We’re fortunate to have the support of Mercury, NZTA Waka Kotahi, Phantom Billstickers and city and regional councils around the country.
HOW IT WORKS
1. LOCKY DOCKS
Free to use secure parking and charging docks in convenient central city locations. They use the latest in European technology and work for any bike, e.bike or scooter and have information about safe cycling routes around each location. Find out more >
2. RIDE -TO-OWN
Get a $30/week biker finance plan. Think of it like a mobile phone plan or your monthly bus pass that allows you to have your own e-bike which you can park securely in town. We have packages for Corporate fleets and support from the Government subsidy programme. Find out more >
A solar-powered service station! You can go for a test ride, get quick tune-ups sorted on your bike and also charge them up. These locally owned and operated shops in the Aotearoa Biker Co-op are where you sign up to the e.bike Ride-To-Own plans. Our first has proved successful in Auckland, the second is coming to Christchurch where we’re installing New Zealand’s first Locky Docks!
WHY ELECTRIC BIKES ???
It's faster, it's cheaper, it's heaps of fun - it's better for your wallet, wellbeing and the planet.
Kiwis, on average, spend over 20 days a year stuck in traffic - that’s more than most people’s annual leave.
We also know 70% of our car journeys are to destinations less than 5km away.
